Big day for Region III runners from Kodiak, Kenai, Homer, Seward


Kodiak and Kenai Central ruled the Class 4A competition and Homer swept the Class 1-2-3A titles Saturday at the Region III cross country championships at Colony High.
 
Michael Parnell and Keith Osowski placed first and second to lead the Kodiak boys to victory with 33 points. Wasilla edged Colony by one point, 67-68, to claim second place.
Parnell edged Osowski by one second to win the closest race of the day in 16 minutes, 22.9 seconds.
 
Kenai landed four runners in the top six of the girls race to win with 31 points, an effort led by the 1-2 finish of Riana Boonstra and Jaycie Calvert.... read more
