Inmates seek death drug info as secrecy bill approaches vote
slideshow MONTGOMERY — Since 2011, five death row inmates have sought more information on the drugs in Alabama’s changing lethal injection cocktail as part of court challenges to their executions, court documents suggest.
Two of those inmates have since died on the executioner's gurney. And all of the others could be blocked from access to information on the death penalty process if the Alabama Senate passes a bill, scheduled to come before a Senate committee Wednesday, that would make death penalty drugs and their manufacturers a state secret.
