McKinney Boyd continues baseball turnaround with key 10-5A win over Plano


MCKINNEY – A year ago, McKinney Boyd finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2009. But with a fifth straight win Tuesday night, the Broncos continued a turnaround that looks destined for the playoffs.
Led by strong defense and a complete game by senior pitcher Zach Rubel, Boyd beat Plano, 5-3, to take sole possession of first place in District 10-5A.
“This district is loaded with talent,” Boyd coach Brooke Court said. “It’s good to get out and get these wins when we can take them.”
