Mia Manganello: Sliding into speed-skating success


Olympic-bound long-track speedskater Mia Manganello has skated her entire life. In fact, family photos even show her skating as a diapered toddler. She began rollerskating regularly as a young girl and then transitioned to roller speedskating. When she turned 13, she decided to try the ice.
Although she had made a name for herself as a competitive speedskater, Manganello took six years off from the sport to focus on her career as a professional cyclist.
