Nuggets' depth has become a blessing and a curse
WASHINGTON — The Denver Nuggets have 12 players with at least 99 career starts. NBA regulations allow five players from each team to play at any one time.
There in lies the puzzle for second-year coach Brian Shaw.
The Nuggets have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. All 12 of those players are in their primes, ages 25 to 31, and they all would be contributors on just about every team in the league. But Denver is 9-10, an improvement from a 1-6 start yet still 2½ games out of a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference.
