Purdue basketball survives serious upset scare at Rutgers


PISCATAWAY, N.J. - With its winning streak and undefeated conference record both on the line, Purdue basketball found salvation from its seniors.
Vincent Edwards and Dakota Mathias surpassed career scoring milestones and the No. 3 Boilermakers' other seniors made plays down the stretch to secure a 78-76 victory at a sold-out Rutgers Athletic Center.
Purdue led by as much as 15 in the first half. Last-place Rutgers cut that lead to one on three occasions in the second half.
