Smog continues to smother metro Phoenix
The icky air is sticking around.
Health advisories have been extended through Saturdayas particulate matter remains at elevated levels in metro Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
That particulate matter can come from cars travelling on unpaved roads as well as dust blown by the wind, officials said.
The department noted that because of the moderate levels of particulate matter, unusually sensitive people should consider reducing their time outdoors.
